Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Rights
Under the ACL, you are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement if a product is:
- Faulty or defective – it doesn’t work correctly or has a defect.
- Not fit for purpose – it doesn’t do what you reasonably expected.
- Doesn’t match the description – it is significantly different from what was advertised or shown.
Major problems – You can choose a full refund or replacement if the product:
- Has a fault that would have stopped someone from buying it if they had known
- Is unsafe
- Is significantly different from the sample or description
- Doesn’t do what we said it would, or what you asked for, and cannot be easily fixed
Alternatively, you may keep the item and Bullet Performance Racing will compensate for any drop in value.
Minor problems – We will repair the item within a reasonable time. If it is not repaired in a reasonable time, you may choose a refund or replacement.
Return costs – If the product is faulty, Bullet Performance Racing must cover reasonable return costs.
Change of mind – We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you simply change your mind, though some voluntary exchanges may be offered.
Important notes
- No refund signs are illegal: Retailers cannot display “No refunds” signs to remove your legal rights.
- Rights are with the retailer: Bullet Performance Racing must resolve the issue even if the fault was caused by the manufacturer or importer.
- Business-to-consumer only: ACL rights apply to purchases from businesses, not private sales.
Proof of purchase – Always keep your receipt, order number, or credit card statement to claim a refund, repair, or replacement.
